Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is a vegetable oil produced from the fruit of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq, Arecaceae). The diverse use of CPO as a raw material for food or non-food has implications for an increasing need for CPO. Crude palm oil is different from palm kernel oil even though both are produced from the same fruit. In addition, crude palm oil is also different from coconut oil which is produced from the kernel of the coconut fruit (Cocos nuifcera).
